Nutrition Expertise
Pause Well is dedicated to elevating menopausal women's health and wellness. Our 4-week program, set in a serene yoga studio environment, addresses the unique nutritional needs of Dupage County yoga community women during and after 'the pause.' With a mindful, body-positive approach, Pause Well is a series of four in-person group lessons offering personalized expert nutrition guidance, proven tools for overcoming barriers to a healthy lifestyle, and a lifelong sisterhood of peer support. The Science Behind Pause Well
​Pause Well is grounded in the well-researched Health Belief Model Theory. Our surveys of local yoga studio members show that dedicated yoga practitioners have high confidence that they could stick with a health behavior change if they believe that change to be beneficial to their health and wellness. Pause Well builds on its participants' self-efficacy by educating them on the health risks associated with menopause and the benefits of research-based nutrition strategies and providing the needed motivational support to facilitate dietary change. Four sequential, in-person lessons will enhance participant awareness and knowledge of midlife women’s changing health and nutrition needs. We offer cues to action strategies to break through perceived barriers and bolster lasting behavior change.
